Anne Curtis MAR

Anne became interested in complementary therapy after moving to the Isle of Arran in 1998 when she was introduced to a neighbour who was a Reiki Master. At that time she had moved away from a very busy life in England.

Having been born just over the water from Arran, Anne had spent many a holiday on the Island as a child. The pace of life on the Island is quite different to that in busy mainland towns and it gave Anne time to reflect on just what she wanted to achieve in life. Having always been very interested in people and helping others, she started her training.

Anne has now been a qualified Therapist for 17 yrs. As a Reiki Master Practitioner, Reflexologist and Massage Therapist, her belief is that we treat the Body, Mind and Soul as a whole.

"We are very Complex as human beings. It is incredible how the mind can effect the body and if we can create physical problems through stress, work related issues, I truly believe that we can also connect with the body to help us heal through whatever therapies that we get the most benefit from."

Anne personally tailors her treatments to suit the client individually. Quite often, therapies can be combined.

"Fortunately, at Heatherlodge we are in the position and able to offer clients advice on a wide selection of Complementary treatments. We work alongside extremely experienced practitioners so there is a network of support which is Amazing to also be part of. Recently, most of us have had to deal with extreme anxiety and worry. Health and Well-being is more important now than ever."

We need to take care of Ourselves.

About Us

In 2017 a loose cooperative of holistic practitioners came together, seeking a centre to further their work. They found Heather Lodge. The group’s members live on Arran and work mainly with regular clients, some with chronic medical conditions, often with the support of local charities — ArCaS and the Mary Davies Trust.

Heather Lodge, set in the grounds of the historic Douglas Hotel, was originally a stable, but has been in use as a private dwelling for many years. There is an attractive and secluded garden. The premises provide several therapy rooms and a healing ambience. Plans are afoot to develop facilities for small groups, including yoga, mindfulness and Qi Gong.
